Beeswax: moisturising the skin:

Beeswax is a very effective way to moisturise the skin. It is commonly used in skin care products and cosmetics. It can help restore and moisturise rough, dry or chapped skin because of its water retaining properties.

Beeswax is rich in vitamin A and has emollient properties that moisturise and hydrate the skin. It also promotes cellular reconstruction of the epidermis. It is recommended even for oily skin due to the fact that it does not clog pores. It can be used daily to prevent skin dryness. You can easily make a natural mixture yourself to moisturise your face and body skin. Just combine beeswax with almond oil or jojoba oil, a few drops of vitamin E oil and aloe vera – a wonderful homemade remedy for dry skin. At the same time, we are assured that our cosmetic consists of only natural ingredients.

Beeswax: liver

In 2013, a study was published in the Korean Journal of Internal Medicine, which investigated the alcohols found in honeycomb and whether their antioxidant effects are able to have a protective effect on the liver. Researchers conducted the study using a mixture of alcohol extracted from beeswax to assess safety and efficacy in people with liver steatosis. The study was conducted over a period of 24 weeks, finding that it helped to normalise liver function and improve symptoms of hepatic steatosis.

Beeswax: cholesterol

Studies have shown that long-chain fatty alcohols derived from plant waxes lower ‘bad’ cholesterol levels in humans. The nutritional or regulatory effects produced by wax esters or aliphatic acids and alcohols found in unrefined cereal grains, beeswax and many plant-derived products lower LDL – low density lipoprotein (‘bad cholesterol’) levels by 21 per cent to 29 per cent and raise HDL – high density lipoprotein (‘good cholesterol’) levels by 8 per cent to 15 per cent.
